The Certified Birth Doula behind Surrendered Birth! My husband and I have four beautiful babies Earth-side. I’m a homemaking, home-educating, Jesus loving, gypsy Momma who loves making friends, traveling, and all things pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
I know God has called me to the ministry of birth work and I view it as an absolute honor to be able to serve moms in such a sacred season in their lives!
began after the loss of our first baby in 2012 and grew stronger over the next few years as we battled undiagnosed infertility. When I found out I was pregnant with our oldest son, I started researching natural childbirth and I was so intrigued with the strength, uniqueness, and God’s amazing design of the female body!
My love and knowledge for all things pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding has continued to grow over the years in my own journey of carrying, birthing, and nursing our four babies! They were all four very different experiences! I’ve birthed both medicated and unmedicated, with intervention, and without intervention, with a doula, and without a doula, in the hospital with an OB, and as of earlier this year in our bedroom at home with my family and midwife. I’m an open book about my births and have learned SO much through each of them. I KNOW that all child birth is a sacred thing between God and woman— only we as women can experience that special gift from Him!! HOW COOL?!
is to help women embrace the divine process, toll, and the joyous gift of childbirth without fear, and ultimately, for them to experience a pregnancy, birth, and postpartum season where they feel informed, supported, CONFIDENT, and empowered.
God designed the female body so perfectly and my goal as a doula is to give my clients the confidence to trust in their bodies and their ability to birth their baby the way THEY WANT and to give them knowledge of the array of choices that are available so they can make informed, confident decisions when it comes to their birth! I offer a variety of support packages including virtual AND in person support from belly to birth and beyond! I know first hand the amazing impact that having a doula has on a birth experience and I am honored to assist others in growing, delivering, and nourishing their babies!
Surrender was a word that God kept imprinting on my heart during the pregnancy of our fourth baby. The song playing while my son entered the world has a powerful verse that says “My hands are raised because I surrender, your will is what’s best for me. I worship you because you’re Jehovah Jireh, I bow before the King of Kings.” I will definitely have to elaborate on Axle’s birth and the significance of surrendering it (in its entirety) to The Lord soon, but finding that song and the peace it gave me during those last few weeks just solidified how God desired for me to surrender everything in my life to Him. His birth was the catalyst for me to finally pursue my dream of becoming a doula and I couldn’t think of a better name for my business than Surrendered Birth.
I feel it’s so important to share openly that my faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation I build my life and raise my children on. Surrendered Birth will be no different. Sharing that openly and frequently may limit the number of women who seek me out as their birth doula, but that’s okay! I’m confident that God will lead the Mommas that I am meant to support to me and re-route the ones that I am not. Prayer and surrender to The Father aren’t “physical” tools that I use as a doula serving other women BUT they are two of the most powerful and important tools that I can & will encourage my birthing mothers to utilize all on their own. I love mommas, I love babies, and I love Jesus! If you don’t know Him as your personal Lord and Savior today, I’d love to talk and pray with you!
A trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
According to ACOG, doulas are an effective tool and IMPROVE birth outcomes. Having continuous support from a birth doula have been proven to decrease the use of pitocin induction, the use of epidural, the risk of preterm birth, and the risk of cesarean section. It’s also been proven to increase the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth and overall satisfaction with your birth experience as well as statistically shorter labors and babies who have higher APGAR scores. There are countless benefits to having a doula during birth but did you know that it is majorly beneficial during pregnancy also? SO MUCH of the groundwork for an empowering birth and postpartum period happens during pregnancy. From the moment I am hired I LOVE an open line of communication! Ask me all of the questions about all of the things, send me all the bump pictures, tell me all about your appointments, fears, desires, the list goes on! As your doula, I’m there during your birth to offer to physical and emotional support, sure! BUT so much of you getting the experience you dream of is thoroughly planned and fervently prayed over long before your due date approaches!
Surrounding yourself with those who believe in and support you is important in life.. but in childbirth? IT IS CRUCIAL.

ONE of the most powerful aspects of having a doula present during your birth, particularly one who has been right where you are, is that when you get to that place of questioning, doubting, needing to dig deeper than ever before, wondering if you can do it, or if it’s worth it? She can assure you that it positively IS and you absolutely CAN!
The Cochrane Database Systematic Review shares many clinically proven benefits of having a doula, one being a higher rate of SATISFACTION with their birth experience. For me, that’s the ultimate goal!!! A safe, empowered, and oxytocin overloaded happy momma!
